Language and register

Language and register is the way the magazine addresses the reader. For example a magazine that is read by teenagers likes ‘Kerrang’ and ‘NME’ the language would be informal and colloquial, whereas a magazine like ‘VOGUE’ and ‘VIBE’ would be formal and professional. It is important to me that I use the correct language and register as the audience would instantly take a dislike to it if they cannot relate to it. My magazine is more in the style of Kerrang and NME which means it will be more likely to use swearing and slang on the cover and throughout.
